Professional Biography:
Inza Fort is Professor of Kinesiology in the Exercise Science concentration and is also currently serving as Chair of Campus Faculty (2007-2008) and will be Chair of Faculty Senate in 2008-2009. Dr. Fort also served as Co-Director of the Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center and is a member of the University of Arkansas Teaching Academy. While at the University of Arkansas, Dr. Fort has served at various times as Interim Director of the Human Performance Lab, Undergraduate Coordinator for the Department of Health Science, Kinesiology, Recreation and Dance, a Chancellor's Lecturer, and Curriculum Director for the Center for Interactive Technology. Dr. Fort also previously taught in the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Academic Interests and Accomplishments:
Inza Fort has co-authored over 45 publications and made over 70 presentations related to academic interests. Dr. Fort has received the College of Education and Health Professions Outstanding Research Award (1990) and the Research Award from the Southern Academy of Women in Physical Activity, Sport and Health in 1997 and 2002 and the COEHP Service Award in 2006. Colleagues in the Department of Health Science, Kinesiology, Recreation and Dance selected Dr. Fort as Outstanding Teacher in 1994, 2000, and 2002. Active in university committees, Inza Fort has, at various times, been a member of the Faculty Senate, Campus Council, Athletics Committee, Academic Standards Committee, Committee on Committees, Financial Advisory Committee, and the Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects.
