Professional Biography:
Dr. Nix joined the Health Science, Kinesiology, Recreation & Dance Department at the University of Arkansas as a Lecturer in 1989. During her years as an Instructor at the U of A, she earned her Ph.D. degree 1998 with an emphasis in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Prior to teaching at the U of A, Angie taught Physical Education and Health at Ramay Junior High in Fayetteville. She also coached basketball, gymnastics, track & field, pom, and cheerleaders. In her 16 years at the Department of Health Science, Kinesiology, Recreation & Dance, she has taught a variety of classes in PEAC, HLSC, RECR, KINS, & PHED. Her administrative responsibilities include serving the Department as PEAC Coordinator since 2000.
Job Duties:
In her current assignment, Dr. Nix receives 3 credit hours of release time for her Administrative responsibilities as PEAC Coordinator and Graduate Assistant Mentor and 9 credit hours of teaching per semester. Administrative responsibilities include mentoring graduate assistants in preparing for and delivering courses, scheduling of PEAC courses, and numerous other assignments as directed by the Department Head.
