Moiseichik Recognized for Promoting Student Involvement

Merry Moiseichik has received the "Honor Award" from the Sport and Recreation Law Association, announced Sharon Hunt, head of the department of health science, kinesiology, recreation and dance.

The association, formerly called the Society for the Study of Legal Aspects of Sport and Physical Activity, presented the award last week at its conference in Albuquerque, N.M. Moiseichik was honored for the work she has done in expanding the association through increasing student involvement. She has taken students to the conference consistently, and many doctoral students have made presentations at the legal research sessions.

Moiseichik has also been instrumental in starting a student association, Hunt said, and she successfully lobbied to get a student member on the Sport and Recreation Law Association's Board of Directors.

"This recognition is a nice tribute to Merry's many contributions to this professional association over a number of years," Hunt said.
